Ventilation is the whole game
You need real exhaust out of the closet, ideally into another room or a vent, plus a passive intake. Without air exchange a closet becomes an oven within an hour of lights on.
Odor
A carbon filter on the exhaust, run with slight negative pressure so air leaks in rather than out. Seal gaps around the closet door if odor still escapes.
Height management
You lose a foot and a half to the light and hardware. Use LST and a scrog net aggressively, flip early at 12-18 inches, and favor low-stretch genetics or autoflowers.
Use a tent inside the closet if you can
A 2x2 or 2x4 tent inside a closet gives you reflective walls, sealed ports, and light containment that a bare closet cannot match.
