Day 34 · Flowering

Week two of flower went the way you want it to: steady logging, buds sizing up, and the cal-mag issue from last week has stopped spreading. The only soft spot is humidity, which crept over 60% on three nights.

What went well

  • Logged something on 6 of 7 days — that's how the early-catch stuff gets caught.
  • The cal-mag correction held; no new rust spotting on fresh growth.
  • Feed stayed on schedule at 850 ppm with pH between 6.2 and 6.5.

What's drifting

  • Night humidity hit 62-64% three times. In week two of flower that's the start of bud-rot weather.
  • The light has not come up since the stretch finished — canopy is closer than it should be.

Focus for the coming week

  1. 1. Run the dehumidifier overnight and get RH under 55% before the colas close up.
  2. 2. Raise the light two inches and drop the dimmer to 80% for a few days.
  3. 3. Defoliate the lowest fan leaves shading bud sites, then shoot a canopy photo.

Today

Day 34 · Flowering

Bud sites are stacking and fattening. Feed heavy, keep humidity down.

Harvest window opens in 44 days · flush starts day 64.

This week's feed

4 gal · pH 6.2 – 6.8 · 1000 – 1200 ppm

  • 3-part base — Micro2 ml/gal (8.0 ml total)Goes in the water first, always. Carries the calcium and iron.
  • 3-part base — Grow1 ml/gal (4.0 ml total)Nitrogen for leaves and stems. Backed off hard once buds start.
  • 3-part base — Bloom4 ml/gal (16.0 ml total)Phosphorus and potassium — this is what puts weight on the flowers.
  • Cal-Mag2 ml/gal (8.0 ml total)LEDs and RO water both strip calcium and magnesium. This puts them back.
  • Bloom booster (PK)2 ml/gal (8.0 ml total)Weeks 3-6 of flower only. Density, not size — do not overdo it.

When the pot feels light, typically every other day. Water until ~15% runs out the bottom.

Light height

20" above the canopy

Plan says 20 – 26 in at 100% (~480W, 750 – 950 PPFD). Measure from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the fixture. Too close bleaches the tops; too far and the plants stretch reaching for it.

Environment targets

  • Temp: 70 – 78°F
  • Humidity: 45 – 55%
  • Light hours: 12/12
  • pH / feed: 6.2 – 6.8 · 1000 – 1200 ppm

Photo journal

Five weeks of this run, including the week-3 deficiency and the confirmation shot five days after the fix.

  1. Week 1 · Day 2 · sprout

    Taproot in the paper towel

Both seeds cracked in the dark cup soak in 18 hours. Into moist soil, half an inch deep, dome on.

  2. Week 1 · Day 5 · sprout

    All four above soil

Light dimmed to 25% at 26 inches. Tent holding 78°F / 68% RH with the humidifier on the timer.

  3. Week 2 · Day 11 · seedling

    Third node, first real feed

Quarter-strength grow nutrients at pH 6.4, 420 ppm. Runoff clean.

  4. Week 3 · Day 16 · vegDiagnosed

Plant Doctor — early cal-mag deficiency

Rusty pin-dot speckling between the veins on the newest growth of plant #2, with slight upward leaf edges. That pattern under a strong LED in soft water is classic calcium and magnesium demand outrunning supply, not a burn.

  5. Week 3 · Day 16 · vegFix applied

    The fix we ran

Added Cal-Mag at 5 ml per gallon to every watering, pH corrected back to 6.4, and lifted the light two inches to take the pressure off. No leaf stripping — damaged spots do not heal, new growth tells the truth.

  6. Week 3 · Day 20 · vegFlip day

    Flipped to 12/12

Canopy filled about 70% of the 4x4. Timer switched, defoliated lightly, tucked the low branches.

  7. Week 3 · Day 21 · vegResolved

Five days later — confirmed resolved

New fan leaves came in solid green with no speckling. Old damage still visible on the lower two leaves, which is expected. Cal-Mag stays in the mix for the rest of the run.

  8. Week 4 · Day 26 · stretch

    Stretch check

Plants gained 9 inches in six days. Light raised to 20 inches, dimmer to 85%. pH 6.3, 900 ppm, runoff 1050.

  9. Week 5 · Day 30 · flower

    Pistils everywhere

Bud sites stacking on all four. Humidity target dropped to 50% and the dehumidifier is doing the work overnight.

  10. Week 5 · Day 34 · flower

    Day 34 — week 2 of flower

Colas fattening, first frost on the sugar leaves. Bloom booster starts this week and runs until the flush on day 64.

Trichome Cam

Two readings logged so far this run — the trend chart is how you know the harvest window is opening instead of guessing off the hairs.

Trichome Cam

Upload a macro or loupe shot of a bud and the AI reads clear / cloudy / amber and calls your harvest window.

How to shoot it

  • · Use a jeweler's loupe or a clip-on macro lens, 30x-60x.
  • · Shoot a sugar leaf or bud face, not the pistils.
  • · Steady the plant, kill the fan, and let the phone focus.
  • · Check the same spot every few days to see the trend.
