Hold the back of your hand at canopy height for 30 seconds. If it feels uncomfortably hot, the light is too close for the plant too.

Will one light cover a 4x4 tent?

Yes. It is sized for a full 4x4 flowering footprint. For a 5x5 you can flower the center hard and run the corners as lower-light plants, or add a second fixture.
