Setting Up a 4x4 Grow Tent Step by Step
The 4x4 is the most popular home tent because it fits a spare bedroom corner, runs on a standard circuit, and supports a genuinely worthwhile harvest.
1. Frame and placement
Assemble the frame before sliding the cover on. Leave 12-18 inches of clearance behind the tent for ducting and access, and place it on a floor you do not mind getting wet.
2. Ventilation first
Hang the carbon filter and inline fan near the ceiling with ratchet hangers, filter inside the tent, ducted out the top port. Keep duct runs short and straight.
3. Light
Hang the LED on ratchet hangers centered in the tent, high for now. Route the driver cable out a cable port so the driver's heat and its status LED are outside the tent.
4. Circulation and monitoring
One clip fan low, one high, neither pointed directly at plants. Hang your thermometer/hygrometer at canopy height, not on the floor.
5. Dry run
Run everything for 24 hours before a plant goes in. Check temperature, humidity, negative pressure, and light leaks during the dark period. Fix problems now, not with a plant inside.
